We are really blessed to have a huge master bedroom. It’s so big I am almost afraid of going house-hunting in the future because all other master bedrooms will be tiny in comparison. Our bedroom also includes a large nook in the room for me to have a sewing space. Well, for the last couple of months or so, my sewing nook has looked like this:I had a couple of projects going on at the same time, and would pull fabric from one section and then another. Throw in a baby and a cat in the mix, well, it wasn’t pretty. I was unmotivated to do any crafting or sewing, so last week I cleaned up, organized my fabric scraps, and can breathe a bit better.
Today it looks like this:
It’s been great because I finally picked up my Swoon quilt to finish up (I am on the second to last block!) and I love the open space again.I most often get in sewing time while Bunny naps, and I love having natural light in the room. One thing I have not done is add any art or pictures. I think this is still very much a room in transition. This side could still use a little more work. There are a couple of projects I want Brian to frame for me. There is part of the room’s light fixture sitting on top as well. We just have not gotten around to doing anything about it yet!
I would love to have a cutting table with storage underneath instead of this desk, but for now it works okay. I am always amazed at how much I psych myself out thinking it will be a huge project (cleaning the space), but it was also preventing me from creating anything I love. Once I got over that hurdle, I got back into sewing.
Isn’t that funny how your mind works?
