We celebrated Father’s Day yesterday by tackling some projects around the house that needed our attention. Even though we rarely gift each other with presents for holidays, anniversary, and birthdays, I really wanted to do a couple of special things for Brian to celebrate his second Father’s Day. He really is the best Dad. Ever.
When we woke up yesterday morning, we could hear Bunny saying “Da Da” over and over again through the monitor. I like to think that was her way of saying, “Happy Father’s Day, and come pick me up.”
When Brian came back to our room with her, I gave him a little gift bag with a couple of presents inside.
The first was a Darth Vadar Lego alarm clock. We have been talking about trying to keep technology and cell phones out of the bedroom at night, so what better way than to go with an alarm clock?
I told Brian that he is a much better dad than Darth Vadar. You know, in case he was worried about the message.
The second present was a little 7×9 photo book that I ordered through Shutterfly. I chose photos that have Brian and Bunny together this last year.
I personalized the mini-book by handwriting some journaling and thoughts onto each page with an ultra fine point Sharpie marker. The best part was capturing this moment of the two of them enjoying the book together. Brian has already taken it with him to work to keep on his desk. I consider this a highly successful holiday.
