When I think of July, I think of blueberries (this is usually when we go pick them).
We used to go out in the country to celebrate with family friends at their house. Then we would light fireworks that we purchased out of state once the sky turned dark.
Now that we’re parents to a young toddler, I have somehow become a big curmudgeon about it all. My brother and I texted back and forth yesterday to figure out our plans for the day.
I guess it’s hard to be enthusiastic about wanting to go see fireworks when the temperatures around here are in the triple digits. Oh, and when said young toddler has a 7PM bedtime.
(Plus I am secretly glad we stopped lighting all those fireworks because I was always screaming at Brian to be careful. Then I would be covered in head to toe in mosquito bites. This is also probably why July 4th does not rank up there for me in holidays.)
Oh well. In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful and Happy 4th of July!
I know mine will be wonderful with my family inside. With air conditioning. And no mosquitoes.
