If there is something I have really missed the last few years, it’s been scrapbooking. There is just something magical about telling a story with words, photos, and lots of fun patterned paper and embellishments! Unfortunately I have had to be really honest with myself the last couple of years and stop buying scrapbook supplies because I was collecting more than I was producing.
Thank goodness for photobooks that let me tell my story and keep the photos! I now primarily scrapbook digitally, and I love it. I bought the digital Project Life Cobalt kit with the template and have been able to document our 2012 on a weekly basis. Now that we are more than halfway through the year, I feel pretty confident that I will be able to stick it out the remainder of the way.
There have been weeks when I grit my teeth in anguish and frustration because I don’t want to stick to a schedule! But, I also know my personality and if I don’t stick to a routine then I won’t get it done, or I’ll forget. I usually work on this by Monday. The latest I have ever done was Wednesday a couple of times, and that was just too late for me.
Hopefully at the beginning of next year, I will have all the weeks documented and printed into a lovely book. Then I will make my family sit down, flip through, and read. Every. Single. Page.
Then they will praise my dedication and love for documenting our family story.
Well, maybe the future generations will. 🙂
