We have had this little patio game table for at least six years. I think it originally came from my mom’s neighbor. I remember Brian and I used to sit outside on the front porch of our old house and play chess with our Lord of the Rings pieces. Then I would get about ten mosquito bites and Brian would have none. Oh the good old days!
Well, we have definitely let this little table fall apart over the years. I can’t remember the last time we sat in it.
There was rust popping up everywhere. After we took it apart I spent a little bit of time sanding the paint off around it.
Originally I decided I would use the leftover spray paint in the garage. We had white, and it was completely busted and unusable. Well after two extra trips to the hardware store (thanks Brian!) because we grossly underestimated how many cans of spray paint we needed (four total, though five would have been about right), I also learned some lessons in spray painting.
Don’t spray paint in flip flops and then take off your shoes because you will have blue feet and grass stuck on the bottom of them. It was almost a month ago and I still have a blue toenail.
Brian helped me attach the plastic slats back together. Then he sanded and put some sealer on the wooden armrests.Woo-hoo! The deck looks a million times better. I still have some empty plant containers that I will eventually put plants into, but for now I think we’ll call this project done.
