When Brian and I were in college, I used to do all the back to school shopping for the both of us. I would buy our notebooks and pens to get us ready for the next semester. I just loved seeing all the new supplies in stores. I still remember calling him and telling him how I got a deal for notebooks that were ten cents each!
Well, we have been out of school for almost ten(!) years now, but my love of office supplies has not changed. Every July and August, you can find me wandering though the aisles and sighing over all the lovely pens and paper to be admired.
My nephew is going back to school soon, and of course I took him shopping. Especially since this past weekend was tax-free weekend for school supplies! Plus, I had a $5 off coupon. And an extra 5% off with my credit card!
(Yes this is very geeky of me.)
My brother thought I was insane, but that’s nothing new. My nephew of course, had no appreciation for this wonderful event. My baby just wanted to be carried in her sling. That’s okay, I had enough enthusiasm to make up for them all!
I came home with some colorful gel ink (my favorite) pens and I don’t plan to share this with anyone! (My nephew was like, “Don’t you have enough pens at home?” And I had to say, “Yes! But not these!!”)
If I didn’t restrain myself, I might have come home with more, but I think this will last me at least until next summer. You can find me swooning over the next batch of gel ink pens that crop up next July.
