We went to Disney World back in 2010 when I was pregnant with Bunny. My mom bought a super soft Winnie-the-Pooh doll as a gift and I lovingly added it to the Thumper I bought in the nursery.
(Sigh. I remember when she only had two stuffed animals. Now there are a million.)
Over time Pooh has become THE number one reigning supreme favorite in the house. Bunny refuses to go to sleep without him (as evidenced by our trip to Orlando this time around). Sometimes when she is toilet learning she will scream for MiMi to hold while she does her business.
Yes, Bunny knows his name. She calls him MiMi. One of my favorite parts of this vacation was taking Bunny to Magic Kingdom to go on The Many Adventure of Winnie-the-Pooh ride. She was in love, and shrieked, and pointed.
But, MiMi is a disgusting mess now. He is no longer soft and fluffy. The batting inside is all squished into his head. He is stinky from a combination of drool, tears, dirt, and possibly food.
I throw him in the laundry if I can sneak him in without Bunny noticing. If she does, she will scream for him and I admit I have given Pooh to her when he is still damp-ish. Well naturally Brian and I started fretting about what we would do if something happened to Pooh.
This is probably also why we planned another trip to Orlando this year. Kidding! But only slightly. We bought another Pooh.
I have him hidden in her closet in case anything happens to the original MiMi.
So much for keeping her brand unaware.
But at least it keeps the house in peace. 🙂
