With Nagini’s impending arrival, we have hunkered down and started getting her bedroom ready. After some bedroom rearranging, we have decided to give up the guestroom to turn it into her bedroom. It used to be one of my favorite rooms in the house because it looked so nice, calm, and pretty.
Well, when we moved in, the room looked like this:
The room was really purple. Like, Barney the Dinosaur purple. We decided to be smart and hire a painter to tone it down. I chose a light grayish purple color and turned it into a super pretty guest room.
We posted the furniture on Craigslist a couple of weeks ago and it sold instantly. I like to think it’s because the photos and decor made the room so pretty that others wanted to replicate it. I tell myself this because now I am wondering if we sold the furniture for too much of a low price to get so many inquiries!
Today, the room is a little bit more chaotic, but it is coming together. I keep reminding myself that things need to look crazy before it all falls together.
We are reusing the bookshelf, chair, and later the crib from Bunny’s old room. These pink curtains are also vintage and polka-dotted fabric that my mom once again helped me set up to sew. It was a much better choice than the $35 curtains I originally purchased from Target. Plus, these were free since I already had them in my stash!
I am flitting between all the spaces in our house purging, decluttering and wondering how the heck we ended up with a bazillion stuffed animals. I have decided I really hate stuffed animals. Each time I corral them and bring them upstairs to keep in a basket and somehow they all make their way back downstairs. It might be time to have a conversation with Bunny about the benefits of minimalism.
