Last Friday we woke up to a little bit of snow. It wasn’t much, but it was just enough to have fun and not have to worry about shoveling the driveway or walkways! My nephew was over early since school was canceled, and Brian worked from home. It was nice for us to take a break in the later part of the morning and go out and play.
Of course the Northerner in me felt like I needed to dress up Bunny in super warm clothes. I was like the mom from A Christmas Story, but with random clothes because we don’t get enough snow/cold weather for me to want to spend money on winter gear. So we outfitted her with a winter hat (yes, it’s a bunny!), her sweet little jacket, hand-me-down rainboots, tights, pants, two layers of shirts, and my gloves. It made for quite a sight.
Naturally there were snowball fights. I am pretty much an observer of snow. I like to look at it, but I don’t want to touch it, play with it, or have anything to do with it. My daughter though, really got into the snowball fight concept. She watched her dad and cousin throwing snowballs and it was so adorable to see her scoop up a little bit of snow, run up to us and press it against our leg. She would laugh and shriek as she did this, which made it extra cute.
They finished off the morning with a snowman, and though everything was quickly turning slushy, it was definitely fun family bonding time.
It looks like it might be snowing again in a few days, and I know Bunny will be very excited. Just yesterday she pulled out my gloves and told me she wanted to go make a snowman!
