Happy New Year, again. On Sunday we spent time with my mom and had dinner together for Chinese (Lunar) New Year. It is now officially the year of the Snake.
Well, it seems like there was only one way to kick start the new year:
As we were leaving, when we walked outside I missed the last step and fell. Thankfully I landed on my hands and knees so the baby was fine, but my ankles and knees definitely were not. My right ankle took the brunt of it and I have sprained it.
Falling was definitely a combination of things. I was watching Bunny and Brian as we walked down and gauging how many steps were left, my hands were full of Bunny’s little eating chair (which I TOLD Brian before we were leaving that we should have put in the car first, but he said we could carry everything…ahem), it was dark out, blah, blah, blah.
My ligaments are all crunchy and wobbly, so the last couple of days have not been fun for me. I saw my acupuncturist last night (and she was also at my mom’s when I fell) so for that I am thankful that she was able to help speed up the healing process a little bit.
I am grateful that the baby is fine. I have to keep my ankle wrapped for a couple of weeks when I am moving about so I don’t re-injure anything, but I already notice a significant improvement today.
Here’s to hoping that my fall meant I was kicking away the last of the previous new year and starting fresh with a new one. At least that’s what I am telling myself.
