There is nothing quite like getting a letter from your local Homeowner’s Association telling you to clean up the outside of your house…in the middle of winter. We have had a really damp winter with lots of rain and our mailbox and side of the house quickly got gross.
Most of our neighbors also had this same issue, so it was pretty comical to get a letter with pictures attached of what was wrong with our house. It was even funnier because we got the letter in early February and could not do anything about it because it was still too cold to do outside work!
Well, we tackled the outside of the house last week. I don’t think we’ll be getting any more notices. At least for the mailbox infringement! I powerwashed it down and Brian repainted the mailbox. I was especially proud to do it in flip-flops:
They didn’t send a notice about the side of the house (since you can’t really see it unless you turn into our driveway), but it definitely needed a good bath:
A neighbor’s dog came by to visit and I think Bunny wants a little dog now. Brian pretty much stamped that idea out immediately!
Next up on the list is tackling the flowerbed on the side of the house. We have some plants growing but it is competing with horrible horrible crabgrass.
The joys of home ownership.
