Back in March, I wrote about how we had a small collection of records without a record player. My mom was convinced her record player was somewhere in her house, and despite spending the last three months off and on looking for it, we pretty much gave up hope.
In fact, I had been very slowly saving up money to buy a record player and was about $25 shy of the goal when she called me last week to say that she finally found it! It was buried among a billion other things, and I am happy to say it now has a place in our home.
It’s been so much fun to use and listen to the record player. Bunny loves it and we love listening to all the old kid songs. My favorite is The Green Grass Grows All Around song.
Next time we go out thrifting, I’ll be on the hunt for a couple more records. I really want to find records of Annie, Wizard of Oz, and Mary Poppins. I know I could buy these songs digitally, but I think it would be more fun to have the record.
Any other classics I should keep my eye out for? I have a different version of The Sound of Music, so the one with Julie Andrews would probably be enjoyed as well.
