At the start of the year I was reading a blog post about distractions and being too much into the phone and technology.
Want to know the ironic part?
As I was reading the blog on my phone, Bunny was trying to talk to me and get my attention.
I think of myself as a generally organized person. One of the ways I keep track of my to-do lists/appointments/things is by setting lots of alarms on my phone. There are lists scattered everywhere.
But then there are times when I am probably a little bit too attached to the phone. And the internet. And technology.
The other ironic thing is that we are very anti-technology with our kids. They don’t watch tv, surf the net, play video games, etc. that I see a lot of their peers doing already.
With a darn phone in my hand it’s definitely sending mixed messages.
I have been making a conscious effort to step away from the phone. Okay, so I will grab it to take photos for my Project Life album, but man it is hard. It’s so nice to get a dopamine hit when you click, click, click on the phone. I am addicted. On my first day of putting my phone away I felt like I was in a fog and grouchy (detoxing?).
Right now as I type this, it is because I woke up early (5AM!) and am trying to get all the “busy work” done before my kids are up so I can devote more time to my littles instead of my little screen.
After all, I have to practice what I preach! 🙂
