For 2014 I have been focusing a lot on the word “content.”
For February this means the actual stuff in and around the house. I have been working on a huge project since November(!) and there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully this weekend I can finally, finally finish.
My next big project? Well, I decided it was time to get my family photo prints scanned and backed-up digitally. If God-forbid, anything happened to my photos, I would be pretty devastated, but we have 3 extra hard-drives connected to our computer AND an automatic backup applied to our internet cloud.
Buuuut, for our photos dating pre-2005? Nothing.
I decided to go ahead and hire a scanning company to take care of doing it for me. Initially I wanted to buy a scanner to do it myself, but after some back and forth conversation with Brian, we decided that we are extremely lazy and the scanner would probably sit in the box, and the same cost for a scanner would be the same cost as having someone else do it for us.
As I type this, it is in a box somewhere on a UPS truck for another company to handle it. Yes it is kind of scary to think that my photos are all gone.
I ordered their speedier service, which I’ll get more into once I get back my photos and talk more about the company once it makes it way back home.
Since there is an end in sight to my big project, I signed up for this class, Before Your Story. I am looking forward to the class and getting more of my story told.
