Have you heard of Week in the Life by Ali Edwards? Basically you document a normal week of your life with words and photos.
I’ve made digital week in the life albums for 2011 and 2012. I skipped last year because it was not a normal week of our life. Brian was already in Texas, and it was just a crazy time. I regret not documenting that time more in detail (though I do have weekly Project Life).
This year is also a crazy time, but I decided to go ahead and document our week anyway. I ordered the project kit. I thought it would be fun to make something with bits and pieces this time around instead of digital.
MONDAY, THE ABRIDGED VERSION
Woke up at our hotel at 6:52AM. We’re in Houston to begin house-hunting.
We slept poorly, and when I took Nagini to get breakfast, it turned out that my mom had already taken Bunny with her to eat.
They arrived just as we were leaving. The four of us left to let Brian catch a little bit more rest. Bunny loves pushing the buttons for the elevator. It makes me think of my childhood when I used to fight with my brother and/or cousins to push the button!
Brian eventually joined us. Can you tell where we are? Ha!
The house hunting begins. We spent the morning looking at a whole bunch of houses.
Brian gets a phone call from our realtor at home. Our house is under contract, which is good, but I am grumpy because it has been about a week or so of verbal agreements and I feel skeptical.
My mom and the kids rest at the hotel while Brian and I grab lunch at the mall. We indulge a little bit with “cheese” fries and a smoothie along with our sandwiches.
We’re waiting for a vendor to fix my mom’s cracked iPad screen, when Brian encourages me to get my ring cleaned. Uh, good thing he did, because it turns out that my diamond is loose and it needs to be repaired. Whomp, whomp. The repair will not cost anything to repair, which is good news. We don’t have all our paperwork, so he’ll have to come back next week.
We meet up with our realtor and her assistant to check out more homes. We meet up with my mom and the kids to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. We get the girls in bed, and I am so excited to watch a little bit of HGTV (since we don’t have cable at home).
We enjoy our cheesecakes, and save our portions for the kids to try tomorrow. I had the Pineapple Upside Down cheesecake, Brian had the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, and my mom had the Chocolate Mousse.
In bed at 10PM.
