We spent Easter weekend playing with the kids, shopping, and working on lots of house projects. Since we have a playdate coming up with the mom’s group I’m in to fly kites, we bought one and decided to give it a test run on the field by the neighborhood.
It was slow going at first. The wind wasn’t quite picking up exactly for Brian to get the kite up high enough.
But eventually, it got there and the kids were enthralled. They took turns holding the kite.
We bought the kite at World Market and out of all the animals they could have chosen, they went with the shark. I kind of love that they did!
Shortly after snapping this photo below, I was attacked by fire ants. I ended up with over 15 bites on my left foot and it’s still bothering me! They are awful little insects and they’ve now overtaken flies as my #2 insect enemy. (It goes as follows: 1. mosquitoes. 2. fire ants. 3. flies.)
The rain held off just as we turned to the last block to get home. We’re ready for our playdate, except we let Nagini hold the kite on the way home and lost the rods that keep it in place! Looks like a trip to The Home Depot or Lowe’s for dowel rods….
