I put together a first-aid kit for our car after a recent day trip out and realized how “unprepared” I was. Sure, I pack food and snacks, and sometimes an extra pair of clothes, but I didn’t think too far ahead until I realized it wasn’t enough!
I put together a kit to keep in the car that would help us on future trips out.
Starting with the owl bookbag, I keep a full change of clothes for both kids. They’re not fancy outfits, but they’ll work in a pinch…like if one or both of them make a huge splash at the water station at the children’s museum.
I’ve also included:
- bug spray
- two bottles of water (we always take water with us, but this is if we are totally out)
- wipes to clean hands, messes, etc.
Next up, I got a container for actual first-aid necessities like:
- band-aids, gauze
- pain-relief spray
- anti-itch cream
- hand sanitizer
- stomach relief tablets
After going through this, I think I’m going to add a hand towel for times when we go to the park and I can use it to wipe down wet slides and swings.
Have you put together a kit for the car? I think the most I’ve ever done was keep ibuprofen in the car but that was only if I was working. I feel much better prepared now. What else should I include?
