I was pretty inspired to go out and fill our house with plants after reading Rooted in Design. Over the weekend, we did just that and went out and bought some plants.
We picked up a parlor palm that now sits between the dining and family room area:
Bamboo that sits on top of our media unit in the family room:
A snake plant and a type of aloe varietal sits on the side of the family room. I think it’ll look really cool once they grow a bit to really fill in the space from the shelf that houses Brian’s Nanoblocks. This one houses the “architecture” of his collection:
We got a money tree that sits in the entryway (hopefully, this will help bring in more money to the house, right feng shui friends?) 🙂 :
I had this jade plant that was originally in the pot above, but it’s been relocated to a new pot on our dining table:
I’m loving these updates to our house. It makes the house feel a little “fresher” and also cozier at the same time.
We bought all the plants from, believe it or not, Ikea! Their selection of plants, and their prices were really good. I think the plant quality, options, and pricing were much better than the ones at the home improvement stores. The white pots and the vase are also from Ikea.
Special thanks for my mom who planted them for us. She is an indoor plant whisperer, so hopefully there are good vibes in there to help keep them alive! Brian and I want to be good at indoor plant care, so we’ll see how it goes.
