Whew. It’s nice to finally finish a project. Last week I wrote about some of my unfinished scrapbook projects and today I’m happy to share that I am down one less project!
I finished my 2014 Week in the Life album the other day. 2013 is missing from the shelf because I skipped that year thinking it was such an atypical week because we were moving. Looking back, I regret it because 2014 was an atypical week as well but I love having it documented.
I started this project shortly before we moved and I got all the way up to “Tuesday” before I left the project untouched for about 6 months.
Since I was coming back to do this project I was surprised by how much I had forgotten. Thank goodness I kept detailed notes and I took advantage of using these daily sheets. I appreciated that I recorded specific things we said and did because it made the project so much easier. For my Wednesday, I just cut the daily sheet to a 3×8 with the remainder on the back side.
I incorporated bits of stuff that I had, including Amy Tangerine’s Plus One collection and Heidi Swapp’s Project Life value kits.
When I ordered my kit last year, the album I received was damaged so I was sent another one with extra page protectors. (Yay for customer service.)
My kids have been obsessed with the album for the last couple of days and they love “reading” it and pointing out parts of the album. I semi-jokingly said on Instagram this is why I spend $75 on $.19 photos. The kids love knowing and seeing their stories on the page and it’s so very special and cool.
I am already excited for 2015 Week in the Life. Aside from a few projects (wedding, baby, yearly, and house), I generally don’t make too many albums. I really love Week in the Life though and I plan to continue this project in the years to come.
My closing page:
Next I’m going to finish up our 2014 album and get it printed! This is crazy. I should be finished by now and I have no idea what my problem is. It’s seriously two weeks of layouts (5 total pages). Sigh.
