I’m excited for this summer. While I’ve always enjoyed looking at different booklists throughout the year, this is the first time we (me and the kids) are participating in summer reading programs.
At our local library, for the adults, if you read 10 books, you get a library t-shirt. I’m very excited about this and have finished two books. I picked up some kid lit books for myself (thanks to this list from The Art of Simple), and armed with my Kindle, I’m ready.
For the kids, I’m loosely following along with this list also from Everyday Reading. Our library is challenging the kids to read 60 books this summer and while we probably already achieved that goal, I thought it would be fun to read 60 NEW books this summer. We’re already at 40+, so I imagine we’ll be there by next week!
I also let them pick books from the library shelves, so yes, we have some twaddle and some Christmas books as well.
What are your reading plans this summer? I’ve already achieved my Goodreads goal of 20 books for the year, so maybe next year I’ll have to bump it up to 30!
