You know that feeling you get after reading a book where you wished you read the book years before? Well, that’s exactly how I felt after reading Apartment Therapy Complete and Happy Home. I wished I had this book when we bought our first house and were trying to figure out our tastes (other than college poor!).
In Apartment Therapy, the book covers pretty much everything you can think of in regards to designing and decorating. There’s talk about flow to color schemes and tons of photographs of different styles of rooms.
The book is broken into three parts. The first part covers setting up your home and that includes kind of a basic 101 to color, style, floors, lighting, etc.
Next, it goes into living in your home and this is my favorite part of the book where it is broken down into rooms and examples within them. All the kitchens are in one section, all the bedrooms in another, etc. The rooms shown are so varied and unique.
The last part of the book covers maintaining your home, and I appreciated the home calendar schedule of tasks to accomplish that month in regards to cleaning, maintaining, and so forth.
Having read through Apartment Therapy, I’m excited to incorporate some new ideas in our home.
I think this is one of the better home design books out there. It’s a comprehensive book that will be helpful to homeowners and those interested in a bit about design. This book makes a great addition to any home decor library.
