In my desire to simplify our home and life, I’ve had to make an effort and be more thoughtful in how I say things. I used to use the words want and need interchangeably.
I have said things like, I need to buy that shirt or we need that game in our collection.
Let’s be honest, most of us only need things that are on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, but think about your daily conversations how much you say need when you probably mean want.
Once I made the connection, I was able to let go of a lot more of things inside and outside the home. I consider how I word things because it can have an affect on me. I might prioritize things that aren’t necessarily important to me.
