We got back last night after spending almost a week in Arizona. The last time I went to AZ was in 2008, so it was a different trip this time around with our children and my mom.
Since Brian went ahead of us to do work training, we flew out later in the week and spent the week in Sedona, Cottonwood, Grand Canyon, Scottsdale, and Phoenix. It was a bit of a whirlwind and the kids behaved most of the time. We stayed at various Airbnb locations, which I’ll talk more about next time.
Arizona is such a beautiful state. Now, normally I totally zone out on road trips, but I did stop and take a break now and again to admire the scenery. We experienced all four seasons during our week there.
I’ve been to the Grand Canyon before, but seeing it again it is still just as awe-inspiring and humbling.
The colors and backdrop of the state look like a beautiful painting. Everything seems to be a little bit sepia-toned and I wonder if the people who drive through the state stop “seeing” the breathtaking scenery. I hope not.
I think I could easily envision living there, but I don’t think there are many job opportunities for my husband! At least, not as competitive as the ones in Houston.
For now, I’ll make do with visiting and hopefully it won’t take another 5 years to make it out there again.
