We finished our closet this weekend. It is pretty much done. We still have to finish going over the “storage” side of the closet and pare down and declutter, but the structure, drywall repair, and mostly everything else is finished.
We ended up taking yet another trip again last Friday to Ikea and came back with a Billy bookcase. Originally we were going to get yet another Pax frame, but I thought if we were actually going to store books we should just get a bookcase to go with it as I worried the shelves on the Pax would bow under the weight of the books.
This is the view from the other end. We put up our Hokie memorabilia and our diplomas (because, really, where else would we stick it and not seem silly?)
From this side all our storage of stuff is on the left side and tucked behind high gloss sliding doors. I’m not ready to share how we stored everything away because right now it’s not sorted or organized in any particular way. We added lots of shelves and there are several drawers on that side.
This side is our “closet” side. My clothes are the first two frames and Brian’s are the last two frames. Yes, he has more clothes than I do! (I’m pretty much a clothes minimalist, and I’ve shared about it before here.)
Right now we’ve been enjoying the new space.
Things still left to do:
-add a mirror to the back wall
-finish decluttering/sorting the storage side of the closet
-hang a couple more prints/frames on the wall
-buy a few more matching hangers
I’ll share more once we get to that stage! For now, I’m calling it mostly done.
