Ugh so yesterday we went to the doctor and the kids have ear infections and I have bronchitis, a sinus infections, and possible strep throat (waiting to hear back on that one). Bleh.
Anyway, some new “pets” have found their way into our house, as I mentioned yesterday.
On Saturday as we drove out to visit Brian’s sister, Brian mentioned that he wanted to add more indoor plants to our home. I was a bit surprised since he doesn’t take care of them, or seem to notice the ones we already have. But he expressed interest in the better air quality plants bring to a home, so I was game.
By the time we came home Saturday night, we added quite a few more to our collection!
I still think Ikea is one of the best places to buy plants and that’s where we went.
The girls pleaded for us to get an orchid. I hesitated at first because I have heard orchids can be notoriously fickle, but I wanted to at least try to see if I can keep one alive, or even thrive!
This one is my favorite:
We already have a smaller version of this one, but I’m all for welcoming more “money” into our house!
You can see the previous money tree with our new leafy one in the office now (pardon all the stuff around it, working on my scrapbook stuff):
Whenever I see this plant, I think of my mom. I remember seeing this variety off and on as I was growing up:
We bought new containers to go with the plants. In total, it was about $100 for everything, which is definitely a much more economical Valentine’s gift to each other instead of flowers!
