After thinking about it for the last couple of years, I finally jumped on the Fitbit bandwagon and bought one. I’ve had my Fitbit Charge HR Wireless Activity Wristband for almost two weeks and I am in love with it.
It’s motivated me to make sure I get my steps in where in the past I just assumed I was doing decent. Truthfully I was probably averaging maybe 4000 steps a day, though to be fair, that is just a rough guesstimate as well since I only went two days of tracking before I jumped into getting my 10k steps in.
I went for the heart rate monitor as it was a $20 difference and I wanted to see how I did when I actually went running. It’s a cool little gadget and I’m pretty happy with my purchase. I think I’ve been charging it every 3 or 4 days where I thought the battery would last a week. I also like that I can flick my wrist to see what my actual steps, heart rate and other stats instead of constantly checking my phone.
I’m still pretty new at learning this. Just the other day I realized that there was a workout mode that I could have clicked when I went running instead of constantly pressing the button. So, still some things to learn, but the main goal of tracking steps is awesome.
I think next time I might consider the Fitbit Alta Fitness Tracker as it is a lot less bulky looking.
But I’m looking forward to getting my steps in more consistently now with my new toy. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get one but I’m glad I did. I jokingly wonder if I jumped on the bandwagon late because on my Facebook friends I have over 30 friends with Fitbits but only 10 or less are actually actively using it!
