Growing up, our family never really celebrated Easter. During my teenage years, my mom and I would put together Easter baskets for friends, but I think this was really the first year where we embraced all the traditions of Easter.
We had a very casual, very informal birthday party for Bunny that involved dyeing eggs (a first time for me!) and decorating them.
On Sunday we went to my sister-in-law’s apartment where she and her roommate hosted a gathering. The kids had yet another egg hunt and got baskets.
It was really fun and this is where we discovered confetti eggs for the first time!
We’re not sure if we’re going to really go ahead with the Easter Bunny bringing presents thing…which, I didn’t realize was actually a thing! I noticed how many other people mentioned the Easter Bunny bringing stuff that it clicked.
Brian said he does not want to do the Easter Bunny and he’s gotta draw the line somewhere! Ha…we are doing Santa Claus and I’m not sure yet about the tooth fairy.
Plus, it brings up the question…do we really need to buy/get more “stuff” just for the sake of having something? It doesn’t really fit in with our lifestyle or the lessons we want to teach our kids.
I’ll have to save this conversation for another day! 🙂
