On Tuesday I participated in Day in the Life. It was a bit challenging because there were moments I forgot to snap a photo. I think eventually this will go into our 2016 family scrapbook album, so I’ll just leave a couple of notes here.
Every morning when I wake up, I open the fitbit app to see how much sleep I got and how restless I was. I’m still not sure what to do about the restless part, but it’s nice to see:
The kids go to preschool so I packed their lunch request: almond butter and strawberry jam sandwiches, cheese stick, and strawberries.
After dropping the kids off, my mom (who is visiting) and I went to Sam’s Club to pick up cupcakes for Bunny’s birthday. We also got some gift cards.
Next, we headed to the grocery store. This was probably the first time in forever that our grocery bill was less than $100! I ended up buying about $20 worth of groceries since we had done a huge stock up the weekend before last on meats and other foods. This time was just eggs, milk, and some produce.
Later, we went to pick up the kids. They ate pretty terribly at breakfast so it was hilarious to see they actually ate every single bite of their lunch. (I brought an Oreo as a treat when I picked them up.)
And, we ate the leftover ice cream cake combo from Bunny’s birthday party. I added the homemade chocolate sauce for mine (not kid-friendly since there is rumchata in it). That was the last of the cake…now we have cupcakes, lol.
After dinner, Brian and I headed out to meet our local board game group. A much larger crowd showed up than had happened in the recent weeks, so that was fun to say hi and socialize a bit.
This was a fun project. I think even with capturing a week in the life you can’t get quite as minute details that you can with a day in the life.
Did you document your day in the life? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to see what your day looks like.
