It all started with a Facebook post on a local mom’s group I’m in. A woman posted she had a natural serum to make eyelashes grow. I was interested, and curious. My eyelashes are pretty wimpy compared to my kids, or even my husband, and of course the vain part of me wanted some natural help!
I searched for Pinterest to get an idea of how to make my eyelashes grow a little longer without spending a lot of money. Castor oil seemed to be the key ingredient in the DIY recipes, so I picked up a bottle in the medication section of Wal-Mart as I was running errands there anyway. For less than $3, it was a worthwhile risk.
And, after about 5 weeks of dutifully applying it to my lashes almost every night, there is a noticeable difference! These photos were all taken with a cell phone during random weeks and times of the day, but you can get the idea.
The first image is before I started. I had a few long lashes here and there but you can see it catching up in the middle image (sometime around week 3, I think) and then the latest image. I pulled up my eyelid for a closer view:
My lashes that were super short caught up to my longer lashes so that it filled in a bit more.
And here’s images over the last 5 weeks where you can see the shorter lashes are about the same as the longer lashes:
I won’t win any eyelash awards, but now, if I go out with mascara it is a noticeable difference! It was a fun experiment to see if it worked. I’m taking a little break from doing this now, but next time I might use vitamin E oil and almond oil like some of the recipes call for to help.
