One of the coolest books I’ve come across recently is Cook Korean!: A Comic Book with Recipes. Exactly like the book cover says, it’s a comic book with Korean recipes. I love this concept.
The book is laid out in a typical cookbook format:
- Kimchi and Pickles
- Vegetable Side Dishes
- Meat and Poultry
- Soups and Stews
- Noodles and Rice Cakes
- Snacks and Street Food
- Cocktails and Anju
- Korean Fusion
I think cookbooks are fun if you can also read through them. This book definitely delivers. There are little stories within the recipes and I also like seeing the step-by-step process of making each recipe, which is especially helpful for visual learners.
The illustrations for the book are charming. You can get a feel for the book at the author’s website. The recipes look very “doable” and I recommend this book for people who are interested in a primer to Korean cooking.
