I’ve kept a minimalist wardrobe the last few years. I like the simplicity in our closet. But sometimes, I still run across feeling like I have nothing to wear, or not loving what my wardrobe is at its current state. Although I’m aware of fashion styles and brands, I don’t actively pursue them.
In The Curated Closet: A Simple System for Discovering Your Personal Style and Building Your Dream Wardrobe, Anuschka Rees walks you through the process of finding your fashion style and creating a wardrobe you love. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I opened the book, but as I kept reading I was impressed by how much good information there is.
The book is divided into 4 parts. Part I: The Basics covers the Curated Closet Philosophy and getting started. Part II delves into finding your personal style. Part III shows you how to build your dream wardrobe. Part IV covers the art of shopping.
I enjoyed reading The Curated Closet and reflecting on my own fashion choices. I think I would have liked to see the models in varying body types, but overall the book is laid out in an organized, minimalist pleasing layout and covers a lot more than I expected at 265 pages.
I don’t know if I have fully mastered my own personal style yet, but this is a great book to help me delve into it and be more conscientious as I continue to adjust and change out the clothes in my closet.
