I’ve mentioned several times that I’ve been really taking the time to clean out and declutter, especially in our closets. I had a bag of Poly-fil and a container of amazing, and beautiful wool batting. Let’s just say I’ve had this stuff since before Nagini was born, and that was more than 3.5 years ago!
That stuff has come along and sat unused through two more houses! But I also didn’t have the heart to just throw it away or donate it. Well, I probably could have with the Poly-fil, but the wool batting was a much harder choice.
As I sat contemplating what to do, I noticed how deflated our couch cushions were looking. Our couch is 6 years old, so it’s beginning to show it’s age:
That’s when I realized I could still “keep” my wool batting and the Poly-fil but actually put it to good use! I decided to stuff the cushions.
See, how luscious this looks? I didn’t have the heart to just get rid of it!
Into the cushions they went:
The nice thing about our couch is that the cushion covers are removeable and machine washable. Plus, there is fabric holding all the batting together (like a naked pillow).
After a few minutes of work, with kids helping and watching the Olympics, the couch came out looking like a champ:
It’s much more comfortable and it’s nice knowing that my things are finally getting used! I went back and forth whether or not to use the “nice stuff” but after more than 3 years sitting in a closet, I would rather have the space back than constantly be reminded of things I spent money on and left in the closet.
