When I found out that I was having a baby born the year of the rabbit, I went a little bunny crazy. I got this adorable pattern to make a 12-block quilt for the baby. Except once I chose the 12 bunnies, I didn’t know how to sew them onto the block. This became a bit time consuming because what I ended up doing (thanks to help from my former quilt instructor) was build it up in little pieces. Then one block might have four or five different little pieces hand sewn on top of another! Whew.
I learned how to do the buttonhole stitch and then I also machine quilted around the ditch. I attempted to do some free-form leaves as well. I am happy with how it mostly turned out, and Bunny loves to play on the quilt.
